Yes as part of the booking process, you will be asked to confirm that you agree with our Terms & Conditions of Horsebox Hire.

Please review these in full before booking.

What if the horsebox breaks down?

In the event of a breakdown please contact us immediately and we will call Equine Rescue on your behalf.

We will strive to ensure that we have the horse box available for collection on the date and at the time agreed but we shall not incur any liability whatsoever in the event of any delay or cancellation arising from matters beyond our reasonable control.

In the event of a breakdown or accident, we have an emergency service in place (see above).

Should the horse box break down or be involved in an accident, either before or during your hire period, Tack-Exchange Horse Box Hire cannot be held liable for delays, curtailment of journey or any other incidental costs.

You will bear the costs of break down or repair in circumstances where the incident is the result of negligence on your part, for example, running out of fuel, filling the tank with the wrong fuel, locking keys in side the vehicle or losing keys.

How many people can the horsebox carry?

The driver and 2 passengers.

Do I need to return it cleaned out?

The vehicle must be returned to us CLEANED, SWEPT and hosed out where necessary.

There will be a penalty of £50 if the horsebox is not cleaned out to our satisfaction.

Tack Exchange Horsebox Hire

• Full payment for hire ( Bank transfer or Card payment) will be required to confirm your booking. NO CASH PAYMENTS ACCEPTED. If you wish to cancel your booking we require 7 days notice, otherwise your fee will not be refunded.

• All horses should be insured for transportation. It is the owners responsibility to ensure their insurance is valid. Tack Exchange Horse Box Hire takes no responsibility for any injury caused to your horse whilst hiring the horsebox or persons accompanying

• Please ensure your horse has a passport, this is a legal requirement when travelling. Please ensure the original passport is in the horsebox whilst travelling.

• The horsebox can carry 2 passengers and a limited amount of tack and other equipment at the hirer’s own risk.
• The vehicle MUST be locked when left unattended. All door ssecurely shut and locked, the hirer is responsible fr keeping the keys safe at all times.

• The hirer is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition externally as when it is collected. ( see vehicle check)

• The hirer is liable for returning the horsebox in the same condition internally as when collected. If the lorry is not returned in the same condition (i.e. free of droppings and hay) a charge will be made.

• The horsebox will be thoroughly disinfected after each hire 

• The hirer is liable for fuel. The horsebox will be supplied with a full tank of DIESEL We ask that you replace the fuel you have used and ensure the tank is registering full again. If the tank is not returned full you will be charged for the fuel not replaced, plus an extra charge for inconvenience.
• Please provide a receipt for the fuel you have purchased.
• PLEASE NOTE: This Horsebox requires DIESEL fuel, should the wrong

           fuel be added you will be liable for costs incurred to rectify               this.                                                                                   

• The hirer will be liable for the cost of repair for any damage caused to the horsebox by horse or driver.
• Drivers must be between the ages of 25 – 70 years of age.
• Drivers must have held a full driving licence for at least 2 years

• If damage occurs the hirer will be required to pay for the damage itself or pay our insurance policies excess of £1000.00.

• A  transaction for £500.00 will be taken as an insurance excess deposit. This will be refunded upon your return provided no damage has occurred. 

• Should any damage occur, the remaining £500.00 will be required upon return.    

• There will be an opportunity to inspect the lorry for any existing damage before hire commences.

• A full inspection will also be carried out upon return.

• Keys must be returned face to face 

• Prices quoted are based on the information provided by the hirer. Should this information be incorrect or subsequently changes, and therefore results in the horsebox being returned later than agreed, extra charges may be incurred.

• The daily hire charge must be paid either by card payment at the time of booking.

• Driving Licence and two utility bills (dated within 3 months) with proof of address will be required on collection of the horsebox.
• Please note these must be from seperate providers and Mobile phone bills CANNOT be accepted
• Photo ID is also required E.G Passport.
• Copies will be made of Driving Licence, Photo ID and Utility bills
• There is a limit of 200 miles for each hire, anything over this will be charged at 50p per mile 

• Prior to collection drivers are requested to log on to

          https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number

         and request a one time user access code. This code must be passed on to

        Tack Exchange For insurance checks to be completed. ( within 21 days

         of collection) driving licence number, national Insurance Number and

         postcode are required to complete.

• Prior to collection all drivers must complete the required self drive insurance questionnaire
• The hirer can park their own vehicle on site ,for the duration of the hire at their own risk. We will require an ignition key in case your vehicle needs to be moved for any reason.

Insurance Policy states

1. Prior to the commencement of any hire the insured shall have
2. Inspected the driving licence of the hirer and any other permitted driver
3. Satisfied themselves that the hirer and any driver

• Are not under the age of 25 or over 70 years of age
• Has held a full UK or EU licence for minimum of two years
• Has not had their licence suspended for any period within the last 3 years
• Has not been involved in more than one fault accident within the last 3 years
• Has no more than 2 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.
• Has not obtained a BA,DD or UT conviction
