Devon Haylage High Fibre Ryegrass.
Devon Haylage High Fibre Ryegrass haylage is highly palatable, has a high dry matter and is consistent in quality all year round. It is suitable for all classes of working horse or pony, fussy eaters or those who struggle to maintain weight. It is only cut once the seed heads are developed at a late stage of maturity resulting in a high fibre product with medium energy levels. Rigorous annual testing shows our haylage has a good level of true protein, low levels of non-protein nitrogen and contains under 10% combined sugar and starch. In many cases, when fed at adequate levels the need for further concentrate feeding could be eliminated, simply balance with a broad spectrum supplement.
Weight: approximately 20kg.
Analysis
The combined ESC and starch figure from the 'as fed' column is the important value to consider when choosing forage for laminitics or Cushings sufferers etc. All of our haylages have a combined sugar and starch value of less then 10% and so are safe choices.

Notes:
The Crude Protein value is a measure of the total protein in the sample including true protein and non - protein nitrogen, around 8% DM basis is adequate.
UK grassland will inevitably be abundant in some minerals whilst lacking in others, for this reason we always suggest a broad spectrum balancer is fed alongside our haylage.
